Tetra Filter Carbon is ultra-activated filter carbon in granular form for use in Tetra EX external filters. Activated carbon effectively adsorbs yellowing, odor, medicine residues, and other dissolved impurities from aquarium water. Suitable for Tetra EX 400, EX 600, EX 700, EX 1200, and EX 2400, and other external filters up to 500 liters.

Replace the filter carbon every 4–6 weeks for optimal adsorption. Remove the filter carbon during medicine treatments — activated carbon also adsorbs medicines. Replace the carbon after treatment to remove medicine residues.

Yes — activated carbon also adsorbs medicines and reduces the effectiveness of the treatment. Remove the carbon before treatment and replace it afterward.

How long does the filter carbon last?
Replace every 4–6 weeks. Over time, the adsorption capacity is depleted and the carbon no longer works effectively.
