You will receive: 1 In Vitro cup (80 cc), ready to plant — sterile grown, freshly delivered from the nursery.

⚠️ Level: Advanced — Utricularia Graminifolia requires a lot of light and CO₂ for optimal growth.

Utricularia Graminifolia is one of the most unique aquarium plants — a carnivorous plant that forms microscopic bladder traps to catch very small aquatic organisms. Despite this unique feature, it grows surprisingly easily and forms an airy, fine carpet in the foreground. Sterile grown and 100% free of algae, snails, and pesticides.

✂️ Care

Gently rinse the gel under lukewarm water and plant in the foreground. Lots of light and CO₂ promote growth. Soft, nutrient-poor water is ideal. The plant grows loosely and airy — if necessary, tie it to a grid for a flatter carpet. Liquid fertilizers like Sera Florena in low doses support healthy growth.

💡 Planting tip

One of the few carnivorous aquarium plants — a real conversation starter in any aquarium. Combines beautifully with other fine foreground plants such as Elatine Hydropiper or Glossostigma Elatinoides.

❓ Frequently asked questions

Is this plant dangerous for shrimp or small fish?
No, the bladder traps are microscopic and only catch single-celled organisms. Completely safe for shrimp and fish.

How do I remove the gel from an In Vitro plant?
Gently rinse the plant under lukewarm running water. The gel dissolves easily.

My plant grows loose and floats away — what do I do?
Tie the plant to a fine grid or gently press it into the substrate. Over time, it will anchor itself.
