✂️ Care
Tie Riccardia chamedryfolia to wood or stone with string or fishing line — do not plant it in the substrate. The moss will attach itself over time. CO₂ and good lighting promote compact, lush growth. Regularly add liquid plant fertilizer, such as Sera Florena.
💡 Planter's Tip
Riccardia grows beautifully on small pieces of lava or driftwood as a detail moss in the foreground. Combine with Bucephalandra or Anubias nana 'Petite' for a varied and decorative nano-hardscape.
❓ Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference with Java Moss?
Riccardia chamedryfolia has a finer, branched structure resembling coral — more compact and decorative than Java Moss, but also more demanding.
What is a 1-2 Grow! cup?
A tissue culture plant from Tropica, completely free from algae, snails, and other unwanted organisms.
Do I need CO₂?
CO₂ is not mandatory but highly recommended. Without CO₂, the moss grows slower and less compactly.
Is this moss suitable for a shrimp tank?
Yes, shrimp enjoy grazing on the fine branches and use it as a hiding place.
