Barclaya Longifolia
The Barclaya Longifolia has, when the tuber has just developed leaves, a bit of the appearance of a Cryptocoryne species. When the Barclaya Longifolia continues to grow, the plant will form long (>20cm), narrow, red leaves with a petiole of about 10 cm.Unlike most other species in the Nymphaeaceae family, the leaves of Barclaya Longifolia do not grow to the water surface.
This tuber grows as a rosette plant, which means that all new leaves grow from the heart of the plant. Place this tuber plant preferably solitary in your aquarium.
In terms of care, the Barclaya Longifolia has a number of requirements. The plant prefers water with a slightly higher acidity and the use of a nutrient medium is desirable for good growth and development.
The water temperature should not fall below 24ºC and sufficient lighting for healthy leaf growth. To keep the plant beautiful, we advise to prune the dead leaves regularly.
