✂️ Care

Tie the plant to wood or stone with string or thread — Bucephalandra will attach itself after a few weeks, and the string can then be removed. Avoid completely burying the rhizome in the substrate; this can cause rot. Good water flow prevents algae growth on the slow-growing leaves.

💡 Planter's tip

Combine with mosses or Anubias nana for a natural, layered hardscape. Ideal for wabi-kusa and nano aquariums.

❓ Frequently asked questions

Do I need to plant this plant in the substrate?
No, Bucephalandra is an epiphyte and grows best tied to wood or stone, not in the substrate.

How fast does Bucephalandra Alamanda grow?
Very slowly — this is normal for the species. Patience is key here.

My plant arrived yellow or limp — is that normal?
Yes, this is transport stress and almost always temporary. Give the plant 1–2 weeks to acclimate. For persistent problems, please contact us.

Is this plant suitable for a shrimp tank?
Yes, completely shrimp-friendly.
