Plant in nutrient-rich substrate in the background zone. Trim roots to 3–4 cm before planting. Liquid fertilizer such as Sera Florena and root fertilizer support healthy growth.

Due to its large size, it's ideal as a solitary background plant. Combines well with smaller Echinodorus species in the midground.
