Juwel Phorax - Phosphate remover

Juwel Phorax is a highly effective filter medium for the breakdown of phosphates in your aquarium. It effectively reduces algae growth and can contribute significantly to improved plant growth.
Phosphates regularly end up in the aquarium via fish food and are hardly broken down naturally. Plants, however, need very little phosphate for their natural growth (fresh water: 0.05 mg/l, salt water 0.01 mg/l).
Too much phosphate can, under certain circumstances, cause an algae plague.
Phorax consists of an aluminium mineral, which binds the released phosphate by forming a water-insoluble aluminium phosphate and thus removes it from the water. This makes Juwel Phorax extremely effective and binds up to 12 mg of phosphate per gram of Phorax.
