It removes both large and small dirt particles from the aquarium water, creating a good biological balance in the aquarium. Mechanical filtration removes large impurities from the water, such as sucked-in bottom sludge and suspended particles like algae and dead plant material. But even more important is the role of nitrifying filter bacteria. These beneficial bacteria settle on the filter substrate and break down the harmful substances ammonia and nitrite into nitrate. This is part of biological filtration and the natural decomposition process in aquariums. The internal filter is also remarkably quiet. The Tetra FilterJet is very easy to install and ready to use in seconds. The adjustable outlet ensures optimal water circulation to evenly aerate the entire aquarium. Another advantage of the Tetra FilterJet internal aquarium filter is the easy-to-clean filter sponge. This significantly reduces filter maintenance time. Do not clean the filter material with hot water, as this is harmful to the beneficial filter bacteria that settle in the filter. Also, never use chemicals to clean the filter. To protect the filter bacteria population in the long term, we recommend not cleaning the filter and performing a partial water change at the same time.
