Lemon Tetra

Level: Easy — a peaceful, colorful schooling fish for the community aquarium.

The Lemon Tetra (Hyphessobrycon Pulchripinnis) gets its name from the bright yellow, lemon-colored hue over its body, accented by black edges on the dorsal and anal fins. As a schooling fish, it feels most comfortable in a group, where its graceful swimming behavior comes into its own.

✂️ Care

Keep in a school of at least 6 pieces — the larger the group, the calmer and more beautiful their swimming behavior. A well-planted aquarium with sufficient open swimming space and soft, slightly acidic water parameters will best suit this species. A dark substrate enhances the bright yellow color even more.

🐠 Combination tip

Peaceful and good to combine with other calm community fish such as corydoras, other tetra species, and dwarf gouramis.
