The Hockeystick Tetra (Thayeria Boehlkei) gets its name from the black stripe that runs from its tail to the middle of its body, resembling a hockey stick. As a schooling fish, it feels most comfortable in a group, where it often swims at an upward angle — a striking and characteristic swimming behavior.
