Unlike many other plecos, this "Vampire Pleco" is primarily carnivorous — regularly feed protein-rich foods such as shrimp and larvae, supplemented with some vegetable matter. Provide plenty of hiding places such as caves and bogwood, and strong current with high oxygen saturation.
