Angelfish (Pterophyllum Scalare) are calm, graceful schooling fish from South America. The Gold Angelfish is a beautiful, golden-yellow colored variant. Due to their tall, oval body shape, they require not only a long aquarium, but also a tall one.

✂️ Care

Keep in a group of at least 6 in an aquarium of at least 120 cm length and at least 60 cm height. Plant densely, especially Vallisneria or larger Echinodorus species — these leaves are often used for cleaning and egg-laying, and also dim the light, as Angelfish do not like overly bright light. If a pair forms, they will keep other fish at a distance to protect their spawn or young — this may seem aggressive, but is normal breeding behavior.

Can be well combined with other calm South American species. Keep in mind that a formed pair may display territorial behavior around their spawn.
