Moonfish Koi
⚠️ Level: Medium — a graceful, calm schooling fish for a spacious, tall aquarium.
Angelfish (Pterophyllum Scalare) are calm, graceful schooling fish from South America. The Koi Angelfish is a beautiful variant with a white-orange-black color pattern, similar to the well-known Koi carp. Due to their high, oval body shape, they need a large aquarium not only in length but also in height.

✂️ Care
Keep in a group of at least 6 individuals in an aquarium of at least 120 cm length and at least 60 cm height. Plant densely, especially Vallisneria or larger Echinodorus species — these leaves are often used for cleaning and egg-laying, and also dim the light, as Angelfish do not like overly bright light. If a pair forms, they will keep other fish at a distance to protect their clutch or young — this may seem aggressive, but it is normal breeding behavior.
🐠 Combination tip
Can be combined well with other calm South American species. Please note that a formed pair may show territorial behavior around their clutch.
