⚠️ Level: Advanced — Rotala Singapore 'Blood Red' is one of the most intensely red Rotalas available. Requires CO₂ injection and strong light for its characteristic deep red color.

Rotala Singapore 'Blood Red' is a special variety that lives up to its name – under optimal conditions, the leaves turn a deep burgundy to almost black-red. Its compact growth and intense color make it an absolute eye-catcher in the midground or background of an aquascape.

✂️ Care

Gently rinse the plant under lukewarm water to remove the culture gel. Divide into smaller portions and plant in groups of 3–5 stems. It colors intensely with maximum lighting and stable CO₂. Regular pruning encourages branching.

💡 Planting tip

Combines spectacularly with bright green plants such as Hemianthus callitrichoides or Eleocharis parvula. Also beautiful next to Rotala sp. 'Green' for a red-green interplay in the background.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference from the regular Rotala Blood Red?
The Singapore variety is known for an even more intense, darker red color. It is slightly more demanding but delivers a more spectacular result under optimal conditions.

Can I keep it without CO₂?
No, without CO₂, the plant will lose its intense red color. CO₂ injection is essential for this product.

How do I prepare an In Vitro cup?
Remove the plant from the cup, rinse the culture gel under lukewarm water, divide into smaller portions, and plant directly into the substrate.

My plant arrived yellow or limp — is that normal?
Yes, In Vitro plants are grown emersed and will adapt to submersed growth. Give the plant 1–2 weeks to adjust. If problems persist, please contact us.

Is this plant suitable for a shrimp tank?
Yes — especially as an In Vitro plant, it is ideal for shrimp tanks.
