The Swordtail (Xiphophorus Helleri) gets its name from the distinctive, sword-shaped extension on the lower part of the male's caudal fin. An active, colourful fish that is not very demanding on the aquarium, making it excellent for beginners.

✂️ Care

Keep as a pair or harem in an aquarium of at least 100 cm. As a livebearing species, the female carries the young in her belly for a while and releases them once they are fully developed. Add plenty of plants for hiding places for the young fish.

Peaceful and can be combined well with other calm community fish such as guppies, platies, and tetras.
