Alternanthera Reineckii 'Pink' gets its name from the pink color that becomes visible on the underside of its leaves. When the plant receives sufficient light and nutrients, the underside of the leaves turns a vibrant pink, while the top remains a darker green to brownish-red.

Plenty of light and CO₂ are essential for compact, colorful growth. Without sufficient light, the stems stretch and the pink color on the underside of the leaves fades. Liquid fertilizer such as Sera Florena further enhances the color intensity.
