✂️ Care

Tie the plant to wood or stone with a string or thread — Bucephalandra will attach itself after a few weeks. Avoid fully burying the rhizome in the substrate. With more light, the leaves will turn a more intense red to dark brown; with less light, they will remain greener. Good water flow prevents algae growth on the slow-growing leaves.

💡 Planter's Tip

Combine with mosses or Anubias Nana for a natural, layered hardscape. Ideal for wabi-kusa and nano aquariums.

❓ Frequently asked questions

Should I plant this plant in the substrate?
No, Bucephalandra is an epiphyte and grows best when attached to wood or stone, not in the substrate.

Why is the leaf color of my plant changing?
The color of Bucephalandra Theia is highly dependent on the amount of light. More light results in more intense red to dark brown hues, while less light results in greener leaves.

How fast does Bucephalandra Theia grow?
Very slowly — this is normal for the species. Patience is key here.

Is this plant suitable for a shrimp tank?
Yes, completely shrimp-friendly.
