Hydrocotyle Verticillata, also known as Whorled Pennywort, is an elegant plant with bright green, round leaves up to 2 cm in size that are located at the end of the stem. Unlike other Hydrocotyle species, this variety grows very slowly, and with sufficient light, the plant even remains under 10 cm.

Plant the runners in groups in the foreground or midground. Hydrocotyle Verticillata grows more slowly than other Hydrocotyle species and therefore requires less frequent pruning. Sufficient light keeps the plant compact and low — with too little light, the plant can grow taller and sparser.

💡 Planter's tip

Due to its low, slow growth, this plant is ideal for the foreground of nano aquariums, where it forms a fine, green carpet without too much maintenance.
