Rotala species 'Yao Yai' is a compact, fine-leaved Rotala variant originating from the Thai island of Koh Yao Yai. Its small, round leaves grow densely together, giving the plant a lush, full character. Ideal for the midground of nano and medium-sized aquariums. The In Vitro version is 100% sterile grown — ideal for shrimp tanks and sensitive aquariums.

✂️ Care

Gently rinse the culture gel under lukewarm water. Plant the stems in groups of 5–7 in the midground. With CO₂, the plant remains compact and full; without CO₂, it grows slower but is still achievable with good lighting. Regular pruning keeps the plant dense and encourages branching. Liquid fertilization like Sera Florena supports healthy growth.

💡 Planter's Tip

Combines beautifully with Rotala H'ra for a play of color in the midground. Thanks to its compact height, it is also excellent as a centerpiece in smaller aquariums.
