Bromelia’s — tropische eyecatchers voor jungle- en regenwoudterrariums

Bromelia’s zijn iconische tropische planten die van nature voorkomen in de regenwouden van Midden- en Zuid-Amerika — precies de habitat van veel populaire terrariumdieren zoals pijlgifkikkers, kameleons en kleine boomslangen. Hun rozetstructuur vormt van nature een waterreservoir in het hart van de plant, wat de luchtvochtigheid verhoogt en kleine amfibieën als schuilplaats en voortplantingslocatie dient.

Bromelia’s zijn epifyten: ze groeien van nature op bomen en takken zonder aarde nodig te hebben. In het terrarium kunnen ze worden bevestigd op kurk, hout of mos — wat ze uitermate geschikt maakt voor verticale jungleopstellingen en paludariums. Bovendien zijn ze bijzonder decoratief met hun opvallende bladvormen en kleuren.
