Ideal conditions:
The Medaka Brilliant Blue Ricefish thrives best at a water temperature between 23-27°C and a pH value of 6.0-7.5. Thanks to its compact size of only 4 cm, an aquarium of at least 40 cm is sufficient. Keep them in a school of at least 6 – in larger groups, the males show their most intense blue sheen during courtship. A dark substrate and indirect lighting optimally bring out the brilliant blue color.

Feeding:
As an omnivore, the Medaka Brilliant Blue Ricefish accepts a varied diet. Feed fine flake food or micro-pellets such as Hikari Medaka No-Mai Next, supplemented with live or frozen food such as artemia nauplii and daphnia.
