⚠️ Difficulty: Medium — Eleocharis acicularis forms the most beautiful carpet with sufficient light and preferably CO₂.
Eleocharis acicularis is a fine, grass-like plant that forms a dense, low-growing carpet in the foreground. With its thin, needle-shaped leaves, it gives every aquarium a natural, meadow-like appearance — popular in Iwagumi and Nature-style aquascapes.

✂️ Care
Plant Eleocharis acicularis in small clumps 2–3 cm apart in a nutrient-rich substrate. With sufficient light and CO₂, the plant spreads via runners and forms a dense carpet. Regularly add liquid plant food, such as Sera Florena.
💡 Planting tip
Combine Eleocharis acicularis with Monte Carlo or Staurogyne repens for a varied foreground with different textures.

How long does it take for a carpet to form?
