✂️ Care
This plant has few demands and is therefore ideal for beginners. It does not require CO₂ or additional nutrients and can tolerate various water parameters. However, ensure sufficient light, as this is important for good growth. A clay cone at the base is usually sufficient nourishment. When replanting or changing water, 'crypt-melt' can occur — the leaves yellow and die, but the plant almost always recovers within a few weeks.
💡 Planter's tip
The striped pattern is best highlighted in a group, planted in the foreground or midground next to plain green plants.
❓ Frequently asked questions
What is the difference from the regular Cryptocoryne Spiralis?
The 'Tiger' variant has a distinctive striped pattern on its leaves, while the care is otherwise identical.
What is 'crypt-melt' and should I be concerned?
Crypt-melt is a natural reaction to change (replanting, different water parameters). The leaves yellow and die, but the rhizome remains alive and the plant regrows within a few weeks.
Is this plant suitable for a shrimp tank?
Yes, completely shrimp-friendly.
