The Sera Floredepot Substrate provides the perfect foundation for a successful planted aquarium. The balanced mixture of sand, peat, and essential nutrients and trace elements is placed under the actual substrate (gravel or sand) during setup — this way, plants receive direct nutrition at the roots during the critical growth phase. Promotes strong root development, increases the colonization surface for beneficial bacteria, and prevents the formation of decaying zones in the substrate.

Apply the Floredepot Substrate as the first layer when setting up a new aquarium. Cover with a layer of gravel or sand of at least 3–5 cm. Combine with Sera Florenette tablets for additional root nutrition and Sera Florena for leaf nutrition — this way all your plants have the nutrition they need.
💡 Tip
The Floredepot Substrate is only suitable for use when setting up a new aquarium — it cannot be added afterwards without completely emptying the aquarium. So plan this carefully during startup.

Can I use Floredepot in an existing aquarium?
The substrate is intended as a base layer when setting up a new aquarium. In an existing aquarium, it is not easy to add without emptying everything.
How thick should the Floredepot layer be?
Consult the packaging for the recommended amount per aquarium volume. Always cover with at least 3–5 cm of gravel or sand.
How long does the substrate provide nutrients?
The Floredepot provides essential nutrients for several weeks. After that, additional nutrition via Sera Florenette tablets or Sera Florena is recommended.
