Cardinal Tetra
Paracheirodon Axelrodi
The cardinal tetra is a very well-known and beloved aquarium fish.
With their fluorescent red and blue stripes they are a dazzling sight in the aquarium.
They live as schooling fish and therefore prefer to live with many of their own kind.
The larger the school, the more they will cluster together.
They like a densely planted tank with some free swimming space here and there.
Their mouths are not very large and they take this into account when feeding.
Provide smaller granules and occasionally some small live food, such as water fleas, to provide variety.
