Rotala is one of the most beloved and versatile genera among aquascapers worldwide. These graceful stem plants are known for their delicate leaves, vibrant colors, and vigorous growth. Rotala is therefore the ideal choice for anyone looking to add contrast, color, and movement to a planted aquarium.

In this collection you will find a wide range of popular Rotala varieties such asRotala rotundifolia,Rotala h'ra,Rotala wallichii,Rotala macrandraand more. The plants range from light green to deep red, with some even developing pink or orange hues under optimal conditions. Thanks to their diverse leaf shapes—from oval to needle-like—Rotalas are suitable for a variety of aquascaping styles.

Rotala grows quickly and is ideal for the middle to background of the aquarium. Regular pruning and replanting creates compact, dense clumps that add structure and depth. Many varieties branch profusely, creating a vibrant appearance and hiding places for small fish and shrimp.

For the most beautiful colors and compact growth, CO₂ injection is highly recommended, as are sufficient lighting and a balanced supply of micro and macro nutrients. Many varieties also grow well without CO₂, especiallyRotala rotundifolia, although the colours remain a bit greener.

Rotala combines beautifully with other stem plants such as Ludwigia or Hygrophila, but also looks great next to calm plants such as Anubias or Java fern.

Whether you're setting up a colorful Dutch-style aquarium or a sleek Iwagumi aquascape, Rotala always brings liveliness and dynamism.Indispensable for every plant lover.
