✂️ Care

Keep in a school of at least 6 — in larger groups, males display their most intense colors during courtship. Feed fine flake food, micro pellets, and regularly live or frozen food such as brine shrimp and daphnia. A dark substrate and good lighting bring out the neon colors optimally.

🐠 Combination tip

Peaceful and ideal for nano aquariums, possibly with shrimp or other small, peaceful nano fish. Combines well with floating plants such as Salvinia.

❓ Frequently asked questions

Why does this fish seem to glow?
The neon blue glow is not pigment but iridescence — light reflection by special skin cells.

How many should I buy at least?
At least 6 — as a schooling fish, it feels most comfortable in a group.

How do I get the most intense colors?
Use black substrate and good lighting, and feed a protein-rich diet.
