Mussel plant

The Pistia Stratiotes, with its long roots, provides a good hiding place for fish.
When this plant is grown in an open environment, such as a pond, the leaves can reach about 15 cm, but in an aquarium they will often reach 3 to 4 cm. Because the leaves are covered with fine hairs, the plant feels velvety soft.
However, the plant does require good ventilation or an open aquarium, otherwise the leaves will dry out.
