✂️ Care

Plant the bulb no more than 1/3 into the substrate — the part from which the plant grows should protrude above the substrate to prevent rot. Avoid an overly rich substrate; too many nutrients can cause brown spots on the leaves. Keep water parameters stable, with extra attention to iron levels (Fe). Liquid fertilizers like Sera Florena support healthy growth. During dormancy, dim the light or add extra floating plants for shade.

💡 Planter's Tip

Plant solitarily in a spacious spot — the plant can grow wide. Grows well when its roots can grow through the root bed of smaller plants (such as Cryptocoryne). When it blooms, a white or yellow flower appears above the water surface; you can collect the seeds to grow new plants.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

My plant has brown spots on its leaves — what's wrong?
This can indicate too many nutrients in the substrate or fluctuating water parameters. Check the iron level and ensure stable conditions.

My plant is losing leaves — is that normal?
Yes, Aponogeton species periodically have a resting phase. Dim the light and give the plant 2–4 weeks of rest — growth will resume on its own.

How deep do I plant the bulb?
A maximum of 1/3 of the bulb into the substrate, so that the growing point always protrudes above the substrate.
