✂️ Care

Plant the bulb for a maximum of 1/3 into the substrate — the growing point should always protrude above the substrate. For gravel or sand only: use nutrient tablets under the bulb. Keep water parameters stable; fluctuations can lead to rot. CO₂ is not required but stimulates growth and flowering. Liquid fertilizer like Sera Florena makes the plant stronger. During the resting period, dim the light or add extra floating plants for shade.

💡 Planter's tip

Plant solitarily in a spacious spot in the background. The Ulvaceus propagates via a rhizome — with a little luck, a new plant will grow. During flowering, white flowers appear above the water surface.

❓ Frequently asked questions

My plant is losing leaves — is that normal?
Yes, this is the resting phase. Dim the light and give the plant 2–4 weeks of rest — growth will resume naturally.

My leaves are becoming very long and thin — what's going on?
With too little light, the plant sends its leaves upwards, resulting in longer leaf stalks. Increase light intensity for more compact growth.

Is this plant suitable for a shrimp tank?
Yes, completely shrimp-friendly.
