Staurogyne Repens - In Vitro
You will receive: 1 In Vitro cup — completely free of algae, snails, and pathogens. Ready to plant directly into any aquarium.
⚠️ Level: Medium — Staurogyne Repens requires normal to high light and CO₂ for the most beautiful compact carpet formation.
Staurogyne Repens is a compact stem plant with fresh green, oval leaves that, with sufficient light, forms a dense carpet in the foreground. Comparable to Hygrophila Polysperma but much smaller and more compact — an easy and reliable alternative to HC Cuba. The In Vitro version is 100% sterile cultivated — ideal for shrimp tanks and sensitive aquariums.

✂️ Care
Gently rinse the culture gel under lukewarm water. Plant the stems in small groups of 3–5 at ±2 cm spacing in the foreground. CO₂ strongly promotes compact growth — without CO₂ the plant grows more upwards. Prune regularly for a denser, more compact carpet. Liquid fertilization such as Sera Florena supports healthy growth.
💡 Planter Tip
Staurogyne Repens is an excellent alternative to HC Cuba — easier and less demanding, but with a similar carpet effect. Combines beautifully with Anubias Nana on rock or Bucephalandra on wood for a varied foreground.
❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need CO₂ for this plant?
CO₂ is not mandatory but highly recommended. Without CO₂, the plant grows more upwards instead of forming a compact carpet.
My plant arrived yellow or limp — is that normal?
Yes, In Vitro plants are grown emersed and will adapt. Give the plant 1–2 weeks. If problems persist: contact us.
Is this plant suitable for a shrimp tank?
Yes — especially as In Vitro, it is ideal for shrimp tanks, completely free of pest organisms.
