Discus Probiotic Granules is a growth food without colourings and preservatives made of soft granulate for all discus fish.
The balanced formula contains, among other things, mineral-rich krill, color-enhancing astaxanthin from Haematococcus algae, and the probiotic Bacillus velezensis (formerly B. subtilis ), which is recommended by the EFSA (European Food Safety Authority) for use in ornamental fish food to promote growth and feed conversion. The optimized usability of the food promotes rapid, balanced long-term development of the fish and reduces water pollution. The intestinal flora stabilizer also strengthens the animals' immune systems and ensures that pathogenic (disease-causing) germs are repelled.
Food suitable for discus fish
Discus cichlids, commonly called discus, belong – as the full name suggests – to the cichlid family. They are among the most sensitive ornamental fish species, which have many special requirements for their care – including their diet. Discus fish are finicky fish that are often accustomed to a certain type of food through their breeder's feeding. However, with a gradual transition, they can usually be persuaded to try other types of food. Because they have a short digestive tract, it is important that the food – which should be fed sparingly – does not swell in the stomach. sera discus food quickly takes on a meaty consistency in water, which discus fish particularly enjoy. At the same time, they do not swell, polluting the water. In addition to a staple food, which forms a good foundation for feeding discus, the sera discus food range also includes a color food and a growth food.
