Red-eyed tetra

The Red-eye Tetra (Moenkhausia sanctaefilomenae) is a vibrant and elegant schooling fish whose striking red eyes and silver body with black accents make it a beautiful addition to any community aquarium. This active swimmer from South America brings movement and life to the middle and upper water layers.

Ideal Conditions:
The Red-eye Tetra thrives best in water temperatures between 22-26°C and a pH value of 6.5-7.5. An aquarium of at least 80 cm is recommended to provide these active swimmers with enough space. Always keep them in a school of at least 6, but preferably more, to observe their natural behavior and most beautiful colors.

Diet:
As an omnivore, the Red-eye Tetra readily accepts a varied diet. Feed a combination of high-quality flakes, granules, and regularly live or frozen foods such as mosquito larvae, brine shrimp, and daphnia. A varied menu ensures optimal colors and vitality.
