✂️ Care
Cryptocoryne is very low maintenance and grows well in almost any aquarium. Do not plant the rhizome too deep in the substrate. When replanting or during water changes, 'crypt-melt' can occur — the leaves turn yellow and die off. This is normal, and the plant almost always recovers within a few weeks.
💡 Planter's tip
The characteristic curled leaf shape provides a unique texture — plant in groups for the best effect in the mid- or background zone.
❓ Frequently asked questions
What is 'crypt-melt' and should I be worried?
Crypt-melt is a natural reaction to change (replanting, different water parameters). The leaves turn yellow and die off, but the rhizome remains alive, and the plant regrows within a few weeks.
My plant arrived yellow or limp — is that normal?
Yes, this is transport stress and almost always temporary. Give the plant 1–2 weeks to acclimate. For persistent problems: contact us.
Is this plant suitable for a shrimp tank?
Yes, completely shrimp-friendly.
