Care & Placement
Hygrophila corymbosa is very easy to care for and has few requirements. The plant thrives in normal to high light and doesn't require CO2 supplementation, although this does accelerate growth. Plant the stems in clusters 5-6 cm apart in the middle and back of your aquarium for best results.
The plant looks best when its stems are planted in a spreading pattern and is ideal for the edges and corners of the aquarium, where it creates a beautiful volume effect. With good lighting and sufficient nutrients, the plant develops beautiful, large leaves with an intense green color.
Regular pruning of the tops encourages branching and ensures denser, bushier growth. You can easily replant the cut tops to propagate the plant. The plant grows rapidly, especially under optimal conditions, so pruning weekly to biweekly may be necessary to maintain the desired height.
