Black Molly
✅ Level: Easy — an easy beginner fish that is not demanding.
The Black Molly (Poecilia Sphenops) should be entirely black, hence its name. It likes a densely planted aquarium with plenty of swimming space and, like other livebearing toothcarps, is easy to care for — ideal for beginners.

✂️ Care
Provide a densely planted aquarium with plenty of swimming space. As a livebearing species, the mother carries the young in her belly for a while and releases them as soon as they are fully grown — provide sufficient hiding places (such as dense planting) if you want to keep the fry, otherwise they are often eaten.
🐠 Combination Tip
The difference in gender is clearly visible: females have a fin under their belly, males have a gonopodium. Keep as a pair or harem — pay attention to the male/female ratio to limit excessive reproduction.
