Medaka Neon Rice Fish
The Medaka Neon Ricefish (Oryzias woworae) is a spectacular mini-fish that literally glows in the dark. With its intense neon blue and orange-red colors, this is one of the most striking ricefish in the world — a living jewel that transforms any nano aquarium or Medaka tank into an explosion of color.
Ideal conditions:
The Medaka Neon Ricefish thrives best at a water temperature between 23-27°C and a pH value of 6.0-7.5. Thanks to its compact size of only 4 cm, an aquarium of at least 40 cm is sufficient. Always keep them in a school of at least 6 — in larger groups, the males display their most intense colors during their impressive courtship behavior.
Diet:
As an omnivore, the Medaka Neon Ricefish accepts a varied diet. Feed fine flake food, micro-pellets, and regularly live or frozen food such as artemia nauplii, daphnia, and microworms. A protein-rich diet enhances the neon colors and promotes reproduction.
